It might take you out of your comfort zone as you will be living off-grid with daily tasks requiring physical work that you might not be used to. At Hagabrekka Wanderland you are far away from everyday stress. We are completely off grid, growing parts of our own food and using principles of permaculture to create a little paradise. This also means a different way of living then what most people are used to, there is no grid power or water, we have solar power in some areas of the property, composting toilets and are pumping water from a river nearby, so no running water. We are surrounded by untouched nature, with all the other beings sharing the space with us, this means that you will encounter spiders and other insects. Here you truly get disconnected from the digital hassle and connected to nature and the present moment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eMeals\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eHealthy, wholesome, plant-based meals is an essential part of regenerative living. We focus on local, organic ingredients that will offer new flavors every day. Some of the vegetables will come straight from our organic vegetable garden as well as wild harvest form the surrounding forest. As a part of Karma yoga some days you will take part in foraging for the meals and helping in the kitchen to make lunch. Lunch will be the biggest meal of the day, while breakfast and dinner are smaller, simple meals. With the current development of civilization there has been a gradual separation between human beings and nature. We want to intentionally reintroduce the concept for people to reconnect to the awareness that we are not separate from nature, but we are a part of earth, increasing mindfullness to ensure well-being not only for humans but all life forms. Sustainability is often connected to an ecological aspect; renewable energy, food, self-reliance etc. but we want to introduce a holistic outlook, reflected in more dimensions that will be a part of how we are living together during the course.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eCare of people, the social dimension (step 1 \u0026amp; 2 in yoga) –\u003c\/i\u003e how we relate to others around us is in yoga called \u003cu\u003eYama\u003c\/u\u003e and it’s the first step in yoga practice. You will learn about how to minimize your ecological footprint, avoiding processed food and products in general, embracing a natural way of life, moving away from using chemicals in personal hygiene, how to forage wild herbs\/plants and using them as a way to heal through diet. There will be an introduction to what we grow, edibles in the nature, and all participants will take part in foraging in the forest and picking vegetables in our garden for the meals. You will take part in tasks needed for the daily life of living off-grid. The asana practice is not only creating strength, mobility and balance, but it teaches us how to use our bodies when preforming other tasks like chopping firewood or foraging. Connecting to nature and the elements through the practice of focusing our mind, the practice of meditation and awareness is essential not only for your own peace and happiness but to be able to perceive the world around us as something not separate from us, but that we are all the same. Realizing that greed is only hurting yourself, that fair share is the way to benefit all, yourself included is an essential part of permaculture, as well as the ultimate realization of yoga practice. Feeling and knowing the oneness of yourself with world around you are the ultimate goal of yoga. As Samadhi(enlightenment) the 8th step of yoga might be out of reach in this lifetime for most of us, we will work on developing an open mind and ease to handle any challenging situations. No running water, composting toilets and physically hard work every day is for many a very new way of living. You will be staying in a glamping tent, so you will always be outside, sharing the space with all the other loved inhabitant on our property; frogs, spiders, bees, badgers, moose, deer, hares, an occasion snake and many more. Its important that you respect the nature and all the beautiful other beings that live on our land. Working on the land is very physically hard work; digging, carrying wood\/stones, wood chopping etc. it will for sure get you in good shape! We are developing our food forest and and the one year veggie beds in this period. In the total 12 days, you will help out 8 of the days, between 4,5 hrs (6 days) - 3 hrs (2 days) per day. At Hagabrekka Wanderland you are far away from everyday stress. We are completely off grid, growing parts of our own food and using principles of permaculture to create a little paradise. This also means a different experience then what most people are used to, there is no grid power or water, we have solar power in some areas of the property, composting toilets and are pumping water from a river nearby, so no running water. We are surrounded by untouched nature, with all the other beings sharing the space with us, this means that you will encounter spiders and other insects. As a part of the hours you are helping out, some days you will take part in foraging for the meals and helping in the kitchen to make lunch. Lunch will be the biggest meal of the day, while breakfast and dinner are smaller, simple meals.
