Yoga and hiking retreats in Norway – a nature lovers paradise
Telemark truly is 'A hikers paradise’. I must admit, I didn’t know anything about the district before buying our land. And every year I discover so much more about all the hikes in the area, the beautiful lakes, mountains, endless trekking routes and magical places to pitch our tent. How could I not know about this hiker’s paradise? I guess you always search away from your home when you want to travel and explore, instead of taking a couple of hours’ drive to adventure into the next district 😄 I think I won’t be able to explore it all even in my lifetime. We are even lucky enough to have many hikes starting straight from out land, literally from the doorstep of our home.
Hagabrekka Wanderland is stunningly located between three high mountains; Mæle mountain, Li mountain and Skorve mountain. There are so many beautiful hikes starting right from the property. Walks through the mystical pine forest to a nearby waterfall, viewpoint to the valley, the waterfall called ‘Rjukan Fossen’ or ‘kyrkjeskogen rundt’ a DNT route. This is all shorter, easy walks starting right from the land. But even for longer day hikes like ‘Bindingsnuten’ can be started straight from our doorstep, or the more challenging hike to the peak ‘Hestnuten’ on 1271 meters. This is just a few out of and endless number of beautiful hikes around, with a short drive there is so many diverse mountains and lakes to explore 😍 After an hour drive you can also find yourself in the starting point to ‘Gaustatoppen’, the highest peak in the area with a mind-blowing view to 1/6th of Norway. Rauland, with its many hikes is an hour away and within 15 min we can reach lake of Seljord which offers beautiful beaches.

It is such a big privilege to bring our guests into this wild nature and see their experience. Many have never even been on an actual hike before, but they all embrace the challenge. It is truly magical to observe how just being in nature, hiking every day can really heal you. How close people get by sharing these experiences, and how the are able to ground back into themselves when they leave their phones and screens behind for the time they are with us. Starting and ending the day with yoga in the combination of exploring nature is nothing less than a dream. It is how I want to spend all my days, so I truly hope that it offers a special experience to our guests as well. I do feel like even after a week I can see a big change in people. There is just so much more lightness, smiles, laughter and relaxed faces that looks back at me. How amazing is it that just being in nature can offer us all of this? Tranquility and peace within. It seems like we couldn’t find a better place for yoga, hiking and immersing ourselves in nature. We feel immensely grateful to have ended up in this area which truly is a nature lovers paradise.

Welcome to join us in the Norwegian wilderness 😀🙏
